Dwarka Temperature & Weather

Dwarka has a warm coastal climate. The best time to visit is October to March, when the weather is pleasant, roughly 15°C to 30°C. Summers (April to June) are hot and humid at 24°C to 38°C, and the monsoon (July to September) is humid with rain. December is one of the most comfortable months, with warm, sunny days around 27°C and cool nights near 17°C.

Getting the season right makes all the difference to a Dwarka trip, from comfortable darshan queues to whether the Bet Dwarka crossing is smooth. I was born in Dwarka and know its weather in my bones, so here is the temperature month by month, the three seasons and exactly when to come. To travel in the best window with everything arranged, our Somnath Dwarka Tour Package from Experience My India runs through the pleasant season.

Dwarka weather by season

Winter (November to February)

This is the best season and the peak pilgrimage time. Days are sunny and pleasant at about 25°C to 30°C, nights are cool and can drop to around 15°C and the humidity eases. It is ideal for temple visits, sightseeing and the Bet Dwarka crossing. Carry a light jacket for the early morning aartis in December and January.

Summer (March to June)

Summer builds through March and April into a hot, humid May and June, with daytime highs of 33°C to 38°C. Sightseeing is best kept to early morning and evening and light cotton clothing is a must. The sea breeze offers some relief on the coast.

Monsoon (July to September)

The monsoon brings most of Dwarka's rain and high humidity, with temperatures around 26°C to 32°C. The landscape turns lush and green and crowds thin out, but showers can make the Bet Dwarka ferry and outdoor plans unpredictable. Janmashtami, in August or September, falls in this season and is the most vibrant time in the city despite the rain.

Dwarka temperature in December

December is one of the best months to visit. Expect warm, sunny days of about 26°C to 28°C and cool, pleasant nights around 17°C to 20°C, with clear skies and very little rain. Mornings by the sea can feel crisp, so a light jacket is handy for the dawn aarti, but by day it is perfect for exploring the places to see in Dwarka and crossing to Bet Dwarka. It is peak pilgrimage season, so expect larger crowds and book ahead.

Best time to visit Dwarka

The best time to visit Dwarka is October to March and November to February are the most comfortable months of all. For pleasant weather with smaller crowds, aim for October to November or February to March. If you want the grandeur of Janmashtami, come in August or September and be ready for monsoon weather. What to pack for Dwarka

Winter: light cottons for the day, plus a light jacket or shawl for early mornings and evenings.

Summer: loose cotton clothing, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and plenty of water.

Monsoon: a raincoat or umbrella and quick-drying footwear, plus something warm for breezy evenings.

For any season, carry modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temple darshan.

What travellers say

Real journeys planned by our team across the Somnath–Dwarka circuit.

Our 1 Day Dwarka Tour Package with Experience My India was a very smooth and peaceful experience. We visited Dwarkadhish Temple early in the morning, and the cool December weather made the darshan much more comfortable. Gurudutt ji had advised us to carry a light jacket for the morning, which was genuinely useful near the sea. We also explored Bet Dwarka and the nearby attractions without feeling rushed. The car was clean, the driver was polite, and the entire day was managed very well.
