Dwarka Places to See: Top Tourist Attractions & Things to Do
The top places to see in Dwarka are the Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir), Gomti Ghat, Bhadkeshwar Mahadev, Rukmini Devi Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Bet Dwarka island, Shivrajpur Blue Flag Beach and Gopi Talav. Almost everything sits within about 30 km of the city, and two unhurried days are enough to cover the highlights.

Top temples and sights in Dwarka city
1. Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir)
The heart of the city and the reason most people come: a tall, ornately carved temple to Lord Krishna rising above the Gomti, crowned by a flag that is changed several times a day. Enter through the Swarg Dwar and leave by the Moksha Dwar and try to be there for the evening aarti. For hours, see the Dwarkadhish temple darshan timings.
2. Gomti Ghat
Just below the temple, the Gomti Ghat is where pilgrims take a holy dip where the Gomti creek meets the sea. It is calmest and most beautiful at sunrise and it is the traditional first stop before Dwarkadhish darshan.
3. Sudama Setu
A scenic pedestrian bridge over the Gomti creek, linking the temple side to Panchkui Tirth and the beach, with fine views of the shikhara and the sea. Note that the bridge has been closed for repairs at times since 2022, so check whether it is open on the day you visit.
4. Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple
A small Shiva temple perched on a rock in the Arabian Sea, a short walk from the town. At high tide the sea surrounds it; at low tide you can walk right up. It is one of the best sunset and sea-breeze spots in Dwarka.
5. Rukmini Devi Temple
About 2.5 km out, this beautifully carved shrine to Krishna's queen is a must and a Dwarka pilgrimage is traditionally counted complete only after visiting it. Read the full story in our guide to Rukmini Devi Mandir.
6. Gita Mandir and Swaminarayan Temple
Close to the main temple, the marble Gita Mandir carries verses of the Bhagavad Gita on its walls and the nearby Shree Swaminarayan Temple is a peaceful, finely carved stop. Both are quick additions for those who want a slower, more contemplative circuit.

7. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga (about 17 km)
One of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, famous for its towering 25 metre seated Shiva statue, on the road towards Bet Dwarka. Details in our Nageshwar Jyotirlinga guide.
8. Shivrajpur Beach (about 12 km)
Dwarka's showpiece coast and one of India's Blue Flag beaches, with clean white sand, safe blue water, water sports and the chance of spotting dolphins. It shares a parking area with the lighthouse and is best in the late afternoon for the sunset.
9. Gopi Talav (about 20 km)
A sacred pond on the way to Bet Dwarka, linked to Krishna and the gopis. The pale clay here, called Gopi Chandan, is collected by devotees for tilak. It is a quiet, atmospheric stop rather than a grand monument.
10. Bet Dwarka and Dunny Point (about 30 km)

How many days do you need in Dwarka?
One full day covers Dwarkadhish, Gomti Ghat, Rukmini and Bhadkeshwar in the city. Two days let you add Nageshwar, Bet Dwarka, Shivrajpur Beach and Gopi Talav at a comfortable pace, which is what most pilgrims prefer. Places to visit in Dwarka and Somnath together
Many pilgrims pair Dwarka with Somnath, about 230 km along the coast, for a Krishna and Shiva circuit.
