Package overview

A clear, temple-first plan for your Somnath Dwarka trip

A 6 days 5 nights Somnath Dwarka package costs Rs. 25,000 per person at the 3 star tier, Rs. 50,000 at 4 star and Rs. 62,500 at 5 star, with hotel, breakfast and your vehicle included. Five nights is the version that stops being a there-and-back and becomes a loop: Ahmedabad to Dwarka up the coast, down NH51 to Somnath, inland to Gir, out through Junagadh and home. You never drive the same highway twice. This is the plan for people who will make this trip once and want it to be complete.

Trip highlights

  • Rs. 25,000 per person for 5 nights at 3 star, vehicle included.
  • Dwarka to Somnath is 233 km on NH51, 5 to 6 hours.
  • Jay Somnath sound and light show runs 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm per the Shree Somnath Trust.
  • Gir Jungle Trail is closed 16 June to 15 October every year.

Why the loop matters more than the extra nights

The 4 and 5 day plans are shaped like a line. You go out and you come back, and the return leg is 410 km of road you have already seen from the other window.

NightWhereWhy there
1DwarkaEvening darshan after the long haul
2DwarkaBet Dwarka, the bridge, Nageshwar, the ghat, unhurried
3SomnathThe 7:00 pm aarti and the 7:45 pm show
4Sasan Gir, or DiuDawn safari, or the beach if the Trail is shut
5JunagadhGirnar at the foot of the hill, and it breaks the drive home

Five nights lets the route close into a circle: Ahmedabad β†’ Dwarka (up the Jamnagar side) β†’ Somnath (down the coastal NH51) β†’ Sasan Gir (inland) β†’ Junagadh (north) β†’ Ahmedabad. Same total driving. Roughly two thirds of it is new ground rather than a rerun. That is what the fifth night actually buys, and it is why we push this plan at groups making a single trip. Next step: send your dates and group size and we will confirm the loop direction and the fourth night.

Day-wise itinerary

Day1
To Dwarka
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 05:30Pickup at Ahmedabad. Before sunrise is not us being difficult. The run is 440 to 450 km and 8 to 9 hours, and the temple shuts at about 1:00 pm.
  • 08:00Breakfast on the Rajkot highway. Kathiawadi country, and the last reliably good food stop for a while.
  • 13:30Lunch near Jamnagar.
  • 16:30Dwarka hotel check in.
  • 17:30Dwarkadhish evening darshan as the gates reopen. Cameras and phones go to the cloakroom, so leave the bag in the car.
  • 18:30Gomti Ghat, the ghat steps, and the shikhara flag.
  • 20:00Dinner.
Day2
Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 06:30Mangala Aarti at Dwarkadhish. This is the reason you slept here.
  • 09:00Drive to Okha, then across Sudarshan Setu. The 2.32 km cable stayed bridge opened on 25 February 2024 and replaced the boat crossing. Its footpath carries verses from the Bhagavad Gita.
  • 10:00Bet Dwarka darshan and the island temples.
  • 12:30Back across the bridge.
  • 13:30Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, on the Dwarka to Okha road, so it costs no detour.
  • 15:30Rukmini Devi Temple, Gopi Talav, and Bhadkeshwar Mahadev if the tide allows. Bhadkeshwar sits out on the rocks and is reachable at low tide, so it is a maybe, not a promise.
  • 19:00Free evening.
Day3
The coastal run to Somnath
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 07:00Leave Dwarka after breakfast. NH51, 233 km, 5 to 6 hours.
  • 09:30Porbandar. Kirti Mandir and Sudama Mandir, a real stop of about an hour.
  • 13:00Lunch, Madhavpur or the Veraval side.
  • 15:00Somnath hotel check in.
  • 18:30Vallabhghat for sunset over the Arabian Sea.
  • 19:00Sandhya Aarti.
  • 19:45Jay Somnath sound and light show, 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm per the Trust. Dinner comes after, not before, which is where most itineraries go wrong.
Day4
Somnath to Sasan Gir
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 07:00Mangala Aarti and darshan.
  • 08:30Bhalka Tirth, Triveni Sangam, Geeta Mandir, Ahalyabai temple.
  • 11:00Drive to Sasan Gir, about 60 to 70 km.
  • 13:00Check in. Light afternoon on purpose.
  • 16:00Evening safari if your permit falls here.
Day5
Safari, then Junagadh
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 05:30Report at Sinh Sadan, 30 minutes before your slot, with the original ID you booked on.
  • 06:00Morning Jungle Trail safari, about 3 hours, routes assigned by the forest department.
  • 10:30Drive to Junagadh, roughly 70 km.
  • 13:00Check in, then the town at its own pace.
  • 17:00Girnar at the foot, the Uparkot side, and an early night if anyone is climbing.
Day6
Junagadh to Ahmedabad
Full Day|Temple Visits
  • 06:00Optional Girnar start for anyone climbing. It is a long ascent and it is not a casual morning.
  • 10:00Breakfast, check out.
  • 11:00Drive to Ahmedabad, roughly a full day with stops.
  • 19:00Drop at airport, station or home.

The Gir closure applies here too. The Jungle Trail is shut every year from 16 June to 15 October. Inside that window we run the loop through Diu instead of Sasan Gir and the fifth night moves accordingly. Details on the 5 days 4 nights page.

Your route, day by day

Day 1

To Dwarka

Open route

Driving routes are indicative β€” the actual road taken depends on traffic and darshan timings on the day.

Good to know on price

Rates are Rs. 5,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 12,500 per person per night, times five nights. On a loop this long the 5 star tier is worth a conversation, because the top rooms in Dwarka, Somnath and Gir are not the same class as the top rooms in Ahmedabad, and the tier is honest about that.

General darshan is free at both temples. The Shree Somnath Trust accepts bookings and donations only through its own official website, never through private numbers or UPI.

Why choose Experience My India for the full loop

  • We route it as a circle. Two thirds of your driving is new ground rather than a rerun, and the map on this page is the reason.
  • We are honest about the 5 star tier. The best room in Dwarka is not the best room in Ahmedabad, and we say so before you pay for the difference.
  • We check the Gir calendar before we quote. The Jungle Trail is shut 16 June to 15 October and the loop reroutes through Diu.
  • A local Gujarat team. The people planning your six days drive these roads.
  • One number, answered by a planner. +91 7302265809 on call and WhatsApp.
  • Timings verified in July 2026 and reconfirmed before departure.
  • Cancellation and refund terms are on the cancellation and refund page, booking terms on the booking policy page. More at about, our Gujarat team and methodology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Package FAQs

Is 6 days enough for the whole Saurashtra circuit?
Yes. Five nights covers Dwarka with a full island day, Somnath with both aartis, Gir with a dawn safari and Junagadh on the way home, as a loop rather than a there-and-back.
What does a 6 days 5 nights Somnath Dwarka package cost?
Rs. 25,000 per person at 3 star, Rs. 50,000 at 4 star and Rs. 62,500 at 5 star, hotel, breakfast and vehicle included. The Gir permit, gypsy and guide are extra.
Can we add Diu as well as Gir in 6 days?
Only by cutting a night somewhere else, and the night that gets cut is usually the second Dwarka night, which is the one holding Bet Dwarka. Tell us which matters more and we will build it honestly.
Do we drive the same road twice on this plan?
No, and that is the point. The loop runs out via Jamnagar, down the coast on NH51, inland to Gir, then north through Junagadh to Ahmedabad.
Is the Gir safari open in July?
No.Β The Jungle Trail is closed from 16 June to 15 October every year.
